Join our research group exploring identity, emotion, and challenges in mathematics learning
Assoc. Prof. Einat Heyd-Metzuyanim at the Technion is seeking highly motivated Ph.D. and M.A. candidates with a strong interest in mathematics education, identity, and discourse. Applicants with a background in education, mathematics, psychology, linguistics, philosophy, or cognitive science are welcome.
Experience in mathematics teaching is a strong asset, but not a requirement. Proficiency in English and the ability to work independently and think theoretically are essential.
As a graduate student, you will take part in one of the current research directions:
- Failure to Learn Mathematics (FTLM)
- Identity and Emotion in Math Learning
- Discourse and Complexity in Education
If you are passionate about understanding learning as a complex, dynamic, and socially embedded process, and want to contribute to theory-rich, discourse-based educational research, this may be a good fit for you.
Scholarships and student housing (dorms) are available upon additional conditions.
